Genomics Partnership Wales are heading to the Festival of Genomics and Biodata 2025!

From 29th – 30th January 2025, Genomics Partnership Wales will be exhibiting at the Festival of Genomics & Biodata at ExCeL London. 

As the UK’s largest and most exciting event for the genomics and biodata community, the festival promises a dynamic gathering of experts from around the globe. Attendees can expect a wide array of talks, panel discussions, and workshops centred on the latest advancements in the field. 

GPW will be exhibiting at stand 164, alongside key partners the All Wales Medical Genomics Service, Wales Gene Park, and the Public Health Wales Pathogen Genomics Unit.  

We’re excited to welcome visitors to our stand to share with you the pioneering work being carried out within Wales’ genomics community and tell you more about the positive impact this is having on the Welsh population and beyond.  

There will also be several industry experts from Wales giving talks at the event, sharing their insights into the latest developments within the genomics community.  

Day One: 

  • Sophie Harding, All Wales Pharmacogenomics Lead, will be speaking on Pharmacogenomics in NHS Wales from 3:05 PM – 3:35 PM on the Healthcare Transformation Stage. 
 

Day Two: 

  • Joseph Halstead, Lead Bioinformatician at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, will present on Using Large Language Models in Variant Interpretation from 12:20 PM – 12:50 PM on the Healthcare Transformation Stage. 
 
  • Nicholas O’Sullivan, Programme Manager for Genomics Partnership Wales, alongside Kevin Etheridge, Patient Advocate and Campaigner and Member of the Genomics Partnership Wales Patient and Public Sounding Board, will discuss Co-production at the Centre of the Partnership Approach in Wales from 4:05 PM – 4:35 PM on the Pyramid Stage. 
 
  • Gerald Ncube, Digital Architect at Digital Health and Care Wales, will speak on A Digital Genomics Blueprint for Wales from 2:05 PM – 2:35 PM on the Biodata Stage. 
 
  • William Griffiths, Professor in Mass Spectrometry, Biomedical Sciences at Swansea University, will deliver a talk on Lipidomics and Metabolomics for Rare Disease Diagnosis from 12:20 PM – 12:50 PM on the Epigenetics & Emerging Omics Stage. 
 
  • Leon Wong, Deputy Director of Health Science for Welsh Government, is taking part in a Panel, UK Genomics- From Strength to Strength, alongside other experts from across the UK, 4:05 – 5:05pm, on the Main Stage
