Team behind QuicDNA win at the MediWales Innovation Awards 2025
On Thursday 4th December, the project team behind the QuicDNA liquid biopsy clinical study won the Health and Social Care – Industry Collaboration award at the MediWales Innovation Awards 2025.
Held at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff and delivered in collaboration with Welsh Government and Health and Care Research Wales, the awards celebrate outstanding achievement across the Welsh health and life science community.
The QuicDNA project, led by the All-Wales Medical Genomics Service (AWMGS), evaluates the use of liquid biopsy in the cancer diagnostic pathway. By analysing a simple blood sample, liquid biopsies provide a less invasive and faster alternative to traditional tissue biopsies. Following the success of the initial rollout for lung cancer, the trial will now expand into additional tumour types with the next phase, QuicDNA Max.
A huge congratulations to the project team on this fantastic achievement!
