Welcome to the October 2024 edition of the Genomics Partnership Wales newsletter.

We’ve had a really busy Autumn so far, with some exciting developments taking place across all of our partners.

In this issue, we celebrate the Wales-wide rollout of the QuicDNA Liquid Biopsy trial which is now available in six health boards. We also hear from Sounding Board Alumnus Ian Thomas, on his experience of living with Genetic Haemochromatosis. We take a moment to recognise some of the incredible achievements of our staff, with AWMGS staff helping to raise of £12000 on their cycle and Aaron Sheehan, Associate Practitioner for the Pathogen Genomics Unit, representing Great Britain at the 6th IFK World Kata Championships 2024.  In our interview with Liz Merrifield, Information Governance lead at Wales Gene Park,  she tells us more about the vital importance of  governance in facilitating life-changing research. Finally, we share some of the exciting cross-partner updates and events that are taking place in the near future.

As always, if you’d like to provide any feedback on the contents of this newsletter, please email GenomicspartnershipWales@wales.nhs.uk
