DPYD fel mater o drefn i bob claf canser sy&#8217;n cael eu trin gyda mathau penodol o gemotherapi er mwyn nodi eu risg o sgil effeithiau difrifol a helpu i atal hyn rhag digwydd.<\/p>\n<p>Amcangyfrifir y gall 10% o gleifion sy&#8217;n derbyn presgripsiwn cyffuriau fluoropyrimidin, a ddefnyddir yn eang i drin canser, ddatblygu sgil effeithiau difrifol, a all fygwth eu bywyd.<\/p>\n<p>Gall yr achosion hyn o wenwyno gael eu sbarduno gan amrywiadau genetig DPYD, y genyn sy&#8217;n amgodio ar gyfer ensym dadhydrogenas dihydropyrimidin (DPD) sy&#8217;n helpu i fetaboleiddio (torri&#8217;n f\u00e2n) y cyffuriau cemotherapi.<\/p>\n<p>Gall lefelau isel o ensym DPD \u2013 a ragwelir gan y prawf genetig \u2013 arwain at gronni&#8217;r cyffuriau cemotherapi hyn yn y corff, gan wneud yr sgil effeithiau&#8217;n fwy difrifol ac weithiau&#8217;n angheuol.<\/p>\n<p>Bydd y prawf DPYD yn cael ei gynnig cyn dechrau cemotherapi gyda&#8217;r canlyniadau ar gael mewn cyn lleied \u00e2 3 diwrnod gwaith. Gydag amseroedd gweithredu cyflym o&#8217;r fath, gellir addasu triniaethau yn unol \u00e2 hynny gan arwain at welliant sylweddol o ran canlyniadau i&#8217;r cleifion.<\/p>\n<p>Dywedodd Genevieve Edwards, Prif Swyddog Gweithredol Bowel Cancer UK: &#8220;Gall diffyg DPD achosi adweithiau i fathau penodol o gemotherapi sy&#8217;n bygwth bywyd &#8211; ac sydd weithiau&#8217;n angheuol hyd yn oed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ar y cyd \u00e2 chleifion ac anwyliaid y mae DPD yn effeithio arnyn nhw, mae Bowel Cancer UK wedi bod tynnu sylw at yr effaith y mae diffyg DPD yn ei gael ar lawer o bobl.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rydym ni&#8217;n hynod o falch y bydd profion a allai achub bywyd ar gael i bob claf canser ar draws y wlad sy&#8217;n derbyn y math hwn o gemotherapi cyn cael triniaeth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meddai Len Richards,Uwch Swyddog sy\u2019n Gyfrifol Partneriaeth Genomeg Cymru, &#8220;Mae meddygaeth bersonol yn cynnig llawer o gyfleoedd ac mae&#8217;n gyffrous gweld Cymru unwaith eto&#8217;n arwain y ffordd mewn ffarmacogenomeg drwy gynnig profion DPYD i gleifion cemotherapi ledled Cymru fel mater o drefn.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Drwy sgrinio ar gyfer amrywiadau DPYD ar yr adeg gywir ac o fewn amserlen ymarferol gallwn ddarparu gwell opsiynau triniaeth ac achub bywydau.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dywedodd Richard Adams, Athro ac Ymgynghorydd Canser y Coluddyn yn Felindre a Phrifysgol Caerdydd: &#8220;Fel meddygon a gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol, rydym yn gyfrifol am wella lles ein cleifion ac osgoi gwneud niwed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dros yr 20 mlynedd diwethaf rwyf i wedi gweld a gofalu am lawer o gleifion sydd wedi elwa o&#8217;r driniaeth hon ond hefyd wedi gofalu am rai sydd wedi dioddef y sgil effeithiau mwy difrifol, gyda chanlyniadau mwy eithafol.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mae&#8217;r prawf hwn bellach yn ein galluogi i asesu risg y sgil effeithiau hyn a newid y driniaeth\u00a0 mewn cleifion dethol er mwyn lleihau&#8217;r tebygolrwydd y bydd hyn yn digwydd. Mae sgrinio DPYD yn ein galluogi i wella ansawdd gofal cleifion canser ledled Cymru ac achub bywydau.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dywedodd Dyfrig Hughes, Athro Ffarmacogenomeg ym Mhrifysgol Bangor, &#8220;Mae potensial enfawr y gall profi ffarmacogentig newid y ffordd y caiff meddyginiaethau eu rhagnodi er mwyn gwella canlyniadau iechyd.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mae&#8217;n addas iawn mai Cymru sy&#8217;n arwain y ffordd o ran darparu gwasanaeth profi DPYD cenedlaethol, oherwydd chwaraeodd y Cymro David Price Evans ran ganolog yn natblygiad ffarmacogenomeg.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>O ystyried llwyddiant diweddar y cyfnod peilot, a ddechreuodd yn gynharach eleni mewn cydweithrediad \u00e2 Felindre, bydd pob bwrdd iechyd ledled Cymru yn cynnig prawf DPYD fel mater o drefn.<\/p>\n<p>Hyd yma, casglwyd dros 400 o samplau a disgwylir cynnydd yn y nifer fydd yn cael y
